Malfunctioning X50 - Continuous streaming of fish shown even though not in demo mode.

This is the second Lowrance X50 that I have used on this boat. Although both performed well initially, within several months the screen continued to show streaming fish regardless of settings. This unit was replaced in the Spring of 2008 by the factory. I hate to send it in again just to have the same problem with the new unit. Any suggestions? Thanks. Pete Starke...
