Fault Unit cannot be switched on (no tone).
Cause Fuse is blown.
Remedy Replace with a new fuse of the same ampere value. If the fuse should blow again, please contact a VDO Dayton authorised dealer. General
Operating panel or unit connections are dirty. Remote control not functioning. Display is not extended. Infrared sensor l for LCD display is exposed to direct sunlight. Wipe the terminal strip clean using a soft cloth moistened with cleaning alcohol. The remote control function is only available with the unit extended. Operation of the remote control etc. is impaired by the incidence of direct sunlight on the IR sensor. Check the remote control batteries or plug the remote control into the holder. Ensure that the parking brake is applied. Correct the brightness setting. Temperature in the vehicle is 0°C or less. Heat interior (to approx. 25°C) and check again. The display becomes somewhat dimmer in the dark, i.e. when the headlamps are switched on, in order to prevent dazzling. (Therefore, check whether the headlamps are switched on if the display is too dark.) Ensure that COL (colour) and HUE are set correctly.
Display colours are too weak or defective. Picture distortion on connecting video recorder.

7. FAULT FINDINNG
Fault Picture distortion during television reception. Shadows or double images during television reception. Stripes or dots during television reception. Red, green and blue dots in the picture.

Cause Adverse reception conditions
Remedy Reception signals are reflected by hills, buildings etc. Check again at a location with good reception conditions. Reflection of the signals by hills or buildings can result in multipath reception. Check again after changing the location or the alignment. Vehicles, trams, power lines, neon signs etc. can interfere with television reception. Check again after changing the location. Not a fault but typical for liquid crystal displays (LCD). (Displays are manufactured with exceptional precision. In general, 99.99% of all screen dots (pixel) are normally activated and only 0.01% are defective.)

CD changer
Cause A CD in the CD changer was not loaded.
Remedy Defective CD changer mechanism. Please contact a VDO Dayton authorised dealer. Replace with a CD which is not scratched or deformed. Remove the CD and insert it correctly.
ERROR 3 ERROR 6
A CD in the CD changer cannot be played due to scratches, etc. A CD in the CD changer cannot be played due to having been incorrectly inserted.
